Camps
The Canadian Foundation is a major supporter or numerous summer camps throughout the CIS. Through these summer camps, thousands of Jewish children learn about their heritage and history. Most of these camps are staffed by volunteer counselors from yeshivos and schools throughout the world. Many of these children enroll in Jewish schools as a result of their experiences in summer camp. Aside from financial support, the Canadian Foundation arranges for food supplies in these camps. Most of these camps have been operational since 1991.
Camp Shuva
Located in Ukraine, this camp first started in 1990 near the town of Mirgorod, and has recently finished its twelfth season successfully. Founded by Rabbi Bleich, this camp has been recruiting students to the Jewish school in Kiev since the school opened in 1991. Each summer, over three hundred children spend a month full of fun, sports, trips, and activities, while at the same time, learn about their Jewish identity.
